Inchcape plough on to ensure customers receive service

is meeting the big freeze head-on, literally, with the help of a snow plough and its own fleet of 4×4 vehicles to provide a shuttle service ensuring staff can reach work to provide telephone assistance to their customers.

The Portsmouth-based company itself was hit by several inches of snow, which resulted in the shuttle fleet being assembled to help the company’s 140 head office staff report for work.

Customer Services Director David Graham said: “By mid-morning 96 staff had battled through the snow to get to work. Many of our non-customer facing employees are answering telephones because of the volume of calls being received from drivers requiring help.”

Inchcape Fleet Solutions’ business continuity plan is being co-ordinated by Mr Graham and HR Director Kerry Howard. Mr Graham said: “Despite the volume of snow and freezing temperatures we will continue to do our best to offer as near normal service to customers as we can.
