Overnight closure at Lofthouse Interchange M1 / M62 15/12/2010
The Highways Agency will be carrying out bridge inspection works at Lofthouse Interchange on the M1 and M62 overnight on Monday 20 December.
Work will take place overnight between 8pm and 6am on Monday when traffic flows are lower. During the works the link road connecting the M1 southbound carriageway and the M62 westbound entry slip road at Lofthouse, including the dedicated link road connecting the M1 northbound and M62 westbound carriageways, will be closed.
During the closures clearly signed diversion routes will be in place. Drivers on the M1 southbound wishing to travel west on the M62 will exit the M1 at Junction 42 (Lofthouse Interchange). Drivers will then take the first exit at the roundabout and travel east on the M62 to Junction 30 where they will exit the motorway and rejoin the M62 westbound. Drivers on the M1 northbound wishing to travel west on the M62 will exit the M1 at Junction 42 (Lofthouse Interchange). Drivers will then take the second exit at the roundabout and travel east on the M62 to Junction 30 where they will exit the motorway and the M62 rejoin westbound.
The closure is weather dependent and drivers are advised to check the motorway signs or the Traffic England website http://www.trafficengland.com/index.aspx?ct=true for the most up to date information.
