By Amanda White 05 January 2011

Speedy (Hire) Plc has renewed its contract with long-standing supplier Lex Autolease, in a deal worth circa £60m over a five year period, should Speedy choose to pick up a two year option to extend the contract after an initial three-year term, with an anticipated 2,500 vehicles being supplied over the full term.

Paul Kinney, Customer Relationship Manager at Lex Autolease, says: "Speedy has been a major customer for over 13 years. During that time we have continually demonstrated added value by driving down costs and enhancing our in-house service offering."

Ian Leonard, director of Fleet Services at Speedy adds: "Logistics is a crucially important area of our business and having the right mix of product and fleet management expertise will ensure that we can continue to operate efficiently in a highly competitive market.
