Kwik-fit recruit master technicians
Having already recruited forty three Master Technicians, vehicle experts trained to the very highest level to handle the most complex electrical and mechanical repair work, Kwik-Fit is to recruit a further thirty one by mid-2011.
With the number of services undertaken on company cars and vans last year by Kwik-Fit increased 16% the recruitment of Master Technicians will further aid the growth of Kwik-Fit centres as not only will repair work be undertaken by fully trained Service Technicians, specialist work can be referred to Master Technicians who operate on a mobile basis and are called in by individual centres when required to undertake diagnosis and sophisticated vehicle repair work.
The company’s Master Technicians have typically previously been employed by the AA or RAC and are able to undertake any complex repair work relating to, for example, vehicle diagnostics, electrical wiring and sensors.
Underlining the skills expertise of Kwik-Fit’s Master Technicians is Mr Lee Collins, who has been short listed in the annual competition to discover the UK’s best car repair expert, which is organised by trade publication Aftermarket, with the winner to be announced in April.
Kwik-Fit Fleet sales director Peter Lambert said: “An increasing number of outright purchase fleets and contract hire and leasing companies are using our centres for service, maintenance and repair work and turning their backs on more expensive and less convenient franchise dealers.
“To ensure that our centres can undertake even the most complex repair work and to enable fleet customers to have all jobs completed in one place we are recruiting Master Technicians.
