Last few places at Public Sector Fleet Workshop

– hosts of next month’s Public Sector Fleet Management Software Workshop – have warned that there are only 18 places still left available to delegates who wish to attend the event taking place on Tuesday, March 15 at the Chiltern Hotel in Luton, in association with Luton Borough Council.

The free Workshop will focus on the use of cutting-edge online fleet management software to cut costs, reduce administration and improve duty of care compliance and it will also include a visit to the Council’s transport department to see Jaama’s Key2 Vehicle Management system in action.

During the Workshop delegates will have the opportunity to speak with Rick Stillman, head of fleet at South Central Ambulance Service NHS Trust, which uses Jaama’s Key2 technology to manage a fleet of almost 1,000 vehicles. There will be two speakers from the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport who be discussing issues surrounding compliance and the work of the CILT.

“Many public sector organisations continue to rely on outdated systems and processes to manage fleet vehicles. These ‘historic’ methods are invariably time consuming, administratively cumbersome, involve intensive paper trails and, ultimately, are inefficient and costly.

“Savvy fleet managers have realised that sophisticated online management solutions deliver a cost benefit return within weeks of implementation. Therefore public sector organisations should ‘spend to save’. Luton Borough Council and South Central Ambulance Service NHS Trust are just two examples of public sector organisations that we are aware of that have taken this approach,” says Jaama sales director Martin Evans.

“We needed to change our processes and working practices and have found that Jaama’s flexible software is ideally suited. With the introduction of ‘lean principles’ we have removed duplication and waste and have made significant efficiency saving,” added Council transport manager Don Allison, who believes the approach the local authority has taken can become a blueprint for fleet and transport departments at other councils and public sector organisations.
