Highways Agency to resurface A45 at Tollbar End
Work will start on Monday (7 March) to resurface the roundabout at Tollbar End on the A45.
The work is necessary to improve the skid resistance of the roundabout and it will also result in a quieter carriageway for road users and nearby residents. It will take place over a total of eleven nights, in two phases.
The first phase, between 7 March and Sunday 13 March, will see the inner lanes of the roundabout and its approaches closed to allow the inner ring to be resurfaced.
The second phase will take place between Wednesday 30 March and Monday 4 April and will see the outer lanes of the roundabout closed, along with the approach roads themselves although only one approach road at a time will be closed. A clearly signposted diversion route will be in place.
The work will all be carried out between 10pm and 5am to minimise disruption to road users.
Project manager Momataz Begum said: “This work is being carried out to improve the safety of the roundabout and the environment for local residents. However, there may be some increased levels of noise during the work, for which we apologise, but we will do our utmost to ensure the works are completed as quickly and quietly as possible, with minimal disruption.”
