Amsterdam set for 8th Fleet & Asset Management Europe show
If you’re on the lookout for an excuse to go to Amsterdam for a few days next month, then the Fleet & Asset Management Europe conference may be just the ticket.
Now in its eighth successive year, Fleet & Asset Management Europe show (FAME for short) will pull together more leading speakers, industry critical discussions and top-level attendees than ever before.
With top speakers from Volvo, Shell, Scania, FleetBoard, and IBM, FAME will try to drive industry-wide innovation by addressing how to combine fuel management solutions and eco driving data to help reduce fuel consumption and emissions, get to grips with the longer-term commercial strategy for platforms, and create the ultimate network of seamless connectivity between fleet operators, back office architectures, PSAPs and emergency services.
Speaking after last year’s conference, Mikael Barcley of Scania said: “The conference was the perfect opportunity to determine the exact state of the industry and brainstorm with other like-minded professionals in the fleet and asset management space.”
Karim Jawad of IBM added: “I made many excellent contacts. The show attracted key players with deep understanding of the market.”
Pierre Sirolli, Chief Project Manager from Renault Trucks, also commented: “This is a great event and a unique opportunity to meet the best in class players in the telematics businesses.”
Opportunities
A spokesperson for the event said FAME will unite commercial telematics executives to discuss cutting edge industry analysis in order to seize opportunities.
“International market reports show that economic uncertainty has impacted the Fleet Management Systems (FMS) industry and it has had a rough ride over the past few years,” she said.
“But, the good news is that signs of global recovery are imminent and increased usage of telematics is promising to have a positive spin on this sector for the next decade. Hence, many analysts believe that fleet telematics is on the cusp of an explosion.
“Recent research has predicted an upswing in commercial telematics usage stating telematics is becoming unavoidable. A study showed that the percentage of cars with factory-installed telematics is currently at ten per cent, but that figure is set to shoot up to 62% by 2016.”
Fleet & Asset Management Europe opens at the Moevenpick Hotel, Amsterdam on 4-5 April.
