RMIF Chief Exec steps down

Rob Foulston, Chief Executive of the Federation, has stepped down from his position with immediate effect.

However, it is believed Mr Foulston will stay with the RMIF in a different capacity.

In a written statement, he explained: “After two years at the RMIF, having achieved the objective I was given of putting the back into profit, I am now stepping down as Chief Executive to pursue my other business interests, particularly Remit (RMIF’s training arm).”

Mr Foulston was evidently pleased with his achievements during his time in the role, adding: “The RMIF 2010 results are excellent; sales are up, membership is up, costs are down and strong foundations have been laid for the future.

“If these foundations continue to be built upon, together with the new initiatives that have been put in place, the Federation will continue to thrive.”

A replacement has not been announced, however his responsibilities are being taken on by Kevin Waterman, Sue Robinson and Stuart James while a new strategy or structure is developed.

As voice of thousands of retail motor businesses, the RMIF has represented the interests of British operators, providing sales and services to motorists and businesses since 1913.
