A19 northbound carriageway resurfacing, Stockton-on-Tees

A scheme to resurface a two mile section of the near will get underway this weekend, providing an improved road surface for drivers.

The northbound carriageway of the A19 between its interchanges with the A1027 Stockton Ring Road and A1046 Portrack Road will be resurfaced between Sunday 3 and Tuesday 19 April.

A 50 mph speed limit will be in place throughout the day while the northbound carriageway will close each night between 8pm and 6am, except on Friday and Saturday nights when the carriageway will remain open.

When the northbound carriageway is closed a clearly signed diversion route will be in place using the A1046, A1305, A177, A1027 Stockton Ring Road and A1027.

Highways Agency project sponsor Andy Crawford said: “This scheme will provide improved safety and a better travelling experience for road users, as well as reducing the need for future maintenance.”
