CFC Solutions show driving offences a year-round problem for companies
Fleet management software company CFC Solutions have undertaken research, based on the users of the company’s Licence Link licence checking software, which shows that offences committed by company car and van drivers show little seasonal variation and appear to be a consistent year-round problem for companies.
The results show the month percentage of driving offences recorded:
January 8% February 9% March 9% April 9%
May 8% June 8% July 8% August 9%
September 8% October 9% November 8% December 7%
Neville Briggs, managing director at CFC Solutions, said: “In some respects, this research is unsurprising but it does show the need for a year-round approach to risk management on the part of fleet managers.
“Even in December, when most fleets spend at least a week off the road, there is only a slight drop in the incidence of offences. Educating drivers about driving more safely is a job for every month of the year.”
When broken down by differing offences the Licence Link figures again showed little seasonal variation.
Briggs said: “If you look at the separate figures for speeding or mobile phone offences, there is little divergence month-by-month with just a slight dip in December again. Car and van drivers are committing these offences all the time.”
Licence Link also allows the user to upload and store document scans against each driver record, such as an image of each driver’s licence and driver declarations, which are encrypted and held online for ease of use and security purposes.
