Shortlist for MT Awards revealed

The finest trucks and vans of the last 12 months have been named as two of the shortlists for this year’s Motor Transport was unveiled this morning.

For the 25th Motor Transport Awards, organisers Road Transport decided to let the public decide who should be named Fleet Van and Fleet Truck of the Year via an online voting process.

Revealed at the Commercial Vehicle Show earlier today, the three candidates for Fleet Van of the Year are the Ford Transit, Volkswagen’s Crafter and last year’s winner, the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.

DAF CF85, MAN TGS and Mercedes-Benz Axor make up the three runners for Fleet Truck of the Year.

The winners for the two categories have already been decided, a spokesperson for the award told FleetDirectory.co.uk, but they won’t be revealed until 6 July during the Motor Transport Awards ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel where 15 other category winners including Fleet Driver and Fleet Engineer of the Year will be named.

“The Motor Transport Awards provide a showcase for the excellent standards that are so widespread in our industry, presented by a high quality organisation,” said Geoff Dunning, Chief Executive of Road Haulage Association.
