Iveco Daily offers versatility for teepee hire firm

A Yorkshire-based tent hire company is really getting the party started with the 7 tonne Iveco Daily.

Before hand, PapaKåta had been calling on its fleet of 3.5 tonne panel vans and 4x4s to transport its impressive teepee tents to events such as weddings, festivals, and parties.

But the purchase of the new truck is allowing larger loads to be shifted in less trips and less vehicles, resulting in a reduced carbon footprint as well as saving a fortune in fuel and road tax.

The chassis of the new Daily 70C18, PapaKåta’s first ever Iveco, has been mounted with a bespoke curtainside body manufactured by Martin Williams of Hull, making it ideal for transporting the teepees and function materials, such as staging, tables and chairs.

Manoeuvrability

Richard Monaghan, Joint Director of PapaKåta, reckons he’ll see at least five years out of his Daily: “The majority of our work is within about three hours’ drive of Yorkshire, but our expertise with teepees mean we can be booked for jobs across the UK and Ireland.

“The Daily gives us a versatile vehicle for eating up motorway mileage, plus with the manoeuvrability to position the vehicle precisely once we arrive on site.”

With over 4.4 tonnes of body and payload capacity, the Daily 70C18 is moved by a 3.0 litre diesel engine that is capable of producing 176 hp between 3,200 and 3,500 rev/min and up to 400 Nm of torque between 1,250 and 3,000 rev/min, driven through a six speed manual gearbox.

PapaKåta’s new Daily will cover between 20,000 and 30,000 miles a year.
