Tracker closes gap on car thieves
A vehicle can now be recovered within 10 minutes of it being stolen thanks to a new service from Tracker.
The launch of Tracker Check has severely reduced now means that police officers can pick up a signal transmitted from a stolen vehicle and view any information on the vehicle and the details of its theft.
Before the implementation of the new system, police would have to phone through to Tracker and request details and then ask for the signal to be speeded up, as they got closer to its location. Tracker Check allows the police to act much more swiftly.
Its introduction has cut recovery times and has already led to Greater Manchester Police recovering a stolen Audi within 10 minutes.
Stuart Chapman, Tracker Police Relationship Manager, explains: “Now police forces can simply log onto a secure web link to gain access to our own technology and do everything they need remotely.
“Thanks to Tracker Check, we have already seen one of our quickest recoveries ever, at 10 minutes from stolen to recovery.
“This new system is part of Tracker’s ongoing commitment to helping the police crack down on vehicle theft. Not only does Tracker Check enhance the efficiency of our partnership with the police, but as this recent case shows, it is also much more effective.”
