Cobra Telematics parades services at Insurance Telematics conference

Last week’s appearance at London’s Insurance Europe 2011 conference was a fruitful move for Cobra .

The telematics service provider, also a sponsor of the Insurance Telematics Europe conference, presented its range of alert and theft management services which allow car insurers to assess and reduce risk factors of its policyholders.

By recording instances of speeding and information like type of road chosen, acceleration and deceleration statistics, Cobra also claim that its services help improve driving behaviour. This data can be valuable in reconstructing the event of a collision and placing driver fault.

As a critical extra, Cobra can send an alert to emergency services detailed the pinpoint location of the accident.

“During the conference, leading vehicle insurers confirmed the very positive impact of usage based insurance telematics on their business,” reported Thomas Becher, ’ Vice President for Marketing.

“The insurance telematics market is a strong growth area. We understand the demands of the car insurance industry and we will take up the challenge to deliver valuable service propositions to both the car insurance industry and to car drivers.”
