Renault go low with new eco Clio
Renault claim to be offering the UK’s cheapest supermini with its new eco-driven Clio.
Fitted with a £250 ‘Eco Pack’ add-on, the three-door Clio pumps 94g/km of CO2, 4g less than its predecessor, and raises the bar for the model’s mpg to 78.4mpg.
At £12,450, it is £1,445 less than the equivalent low-emission Ford Fiesta Econetic and £2,410 cheaper than the Volkswagen Polo BlueMotion.
Fleet customers are also being targeted with the prospect of 100% Capital Write Down Allowance and low benefit-in-kind rating of only 13% on top of zero Vehicle Excise Duty and exemption from the London Congestion Charge.
Renault say the Eco Pack will pay for itself within a year, with motorists dodging £244 worth of Congestion Charge as well as benefitting from £110 on improved fuel economy compared to the standard dCi 88 over 12,000 miles.
Those outside of the capital would be better off by almost £2,500, based on the same fuel cost saving and exemption from the £9 Auto Pay weekday charge.
The new 94 g/km Clio Expression Eco is available now from £12,450 including the optional pack.
