Iveco EcoStralis improving fuel efficiency for haulage firm
A haulage company is benefitting from improved fuel efficiency with the purchase of two Iveco EcoStralis tractor units.
As the first UK haulier to have invested in the new technology, Bedfords Transport can look forward to at least a 4% improvement in fuel economy with the 44 tonne 4×2 EcoStralis.
The units will be used for Bedfords’ recently acquired logistics network LinQ Alliance to maintain the company’s track record for accuracy and reliability.
Proven results show the EcoStralis reduces fuel consumption on long distance operations.
Another move forward
Steff Pfadenhauer, Bedfords MD, said this acquisition shows how the company is expanding its fleet in a way that also considers the environmental issues surrounding the transport industry.
“Investing in the new EcoStralis units is another move forward for Bedfords,” he commented.
“We work hard to reduce fuel consumption with our current fleet but these new units help to reduce it further still, continuing to aid Bedfords to provide the reliable service we are known for.”
John McCune of LinQ Alliance added: “Having recently been acquired by Bedfords, LinQ now has the opportunity to improve the success of the network. With the addition of the two EcoStralis units, LinQ aims to build its national distribution service and to reduce fuel costs at the same time.”
Roger Peel, Dealer Principle at Northern Commercials – the dealership which provided the units – said: “The new units will provide huge fuel savings for Bedfords and we are proud that one of our customers will be the first to operate an EcoStralis in the UK.”
