Road works information for Highways Agency roads in Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Cheshire and South Lancashire – 7 days beginning Monday 30 May 2011
M62 Junction 10 – Warrington
Roadworks will be in place from Friday 3 to Saturday 4 June on the M62 junction 10 while improvement works take place.
During this time, traffic wishing to access the M6 Northbound at junction 10 will be directed to travel on the M6 southbound to Junction 21, exit and return north.
ONGOING SCHEMES
M62 – Junctions 11 and 12
A 50 mph speed limit remains in place on the M62 between junctions 11 and 12 while work to improve the junction continues.
M60 Junctions 19-23
From Tuesday 31 May to Thursday 2 June, between 9pm and 5am the clockwise and anti clockwise carriageways of the M60 between junction 23 (Ashton under Lyne) and junction 21 (Broadway) will be reduced to a single lane while work to repair the road surface continues.
A5036 (Sefton)
A 30mph speed limit will be imposed on the North and Southbound carriageway of the A5036 between Copy Lane and Park Lane West while the North West Gas Alliance undertakes gas main works.
The works are due to be completed on 16 June.
M53
Junction 1 Wallasey (bridge repairs) – various lane closures in both directions at Bidston Moss Viaduct for bridge repairs. Work continues until the end of March 2012.
WORK OFF THE HIGHWAYS AGENCY NETWORK WHICH MAY AFFECT CUSTOMERS ON HIGHWAYS AGENCY ROADS
M53 (Cheshire Oaks)
There will be off peak lane closures at junction ten while work to improve the entranceway into Cheshire Oaks takes place. Work is expected to continue until the Summer. In the event of queues, motorists trying to access Cheshire Oaks are advised to exit the M56 at junction 14 and use the A5117.
WORK BEING UNDERTAKEN BY OTHER AGENCIES WHICH MAY AFFECT HIGHWAYS AGENCY CUSTOMERS
There will be various road closures in parts of Bootle, including Park Lane West, Dunnings Bridge Road, Copy Lane and Netherton Way while work to renew 2km of gas mains takes place between now and November.
The National Grid has worked with the Highways Agency to reduce their impact on motorists. On Dunnings Bridge Road, two lanes in each direction will remain open during the day with further lane restrictions only being put in place at night and during weekends. Work will also be suspended during major events such as football matches.
