Mazda aims new 6 model at fleet market
Mazda has opened the order book for its fleet-focussed ‘Business Line’ Mazda6 hatchback.
Available for £18,300, the new addition is intended to deliver a highly specified vehicle for company car drivers at an irresistible price.
With CO2 emissions of 138g/km, the 2.2-litre diesel qualifies for the 20% benefit-in-kind tax bracket. Coming in Black Mica, Sunlight Silver Metallic and Stormy Blue Mica – the three most popular colours amongst company car drivers – the Mazda6 will include cruise control, Dynamic Stability Control, Emergency Brake Assist, a Sanyo TomTom satellite navigation system and 17-inch alloy wheels.
Steve Jelliss, Mazda’s Fleet and Remarketing Director, expects to shift 500 of the new model before the end of 2011 and up to 1,000 every year.
He said: “This is the first time Mazda has introduced a model specifically intended to appeal to company car drivers through a combination of both features and attractive benefit-in-kind rates.
“Drivers choosing the new Mazda6 ‘Business Line’ model will pay just £60.43 a month if a basic rate taxpayer or £120.87 a month if a higher rate taxpayer. That represents fantastic value-for-money for a car with the style, performance and features of our latest model.
“With an anticipated monthly contract hire rate lower than significant rival models, the Mazda6 ‘Business Line’ will sit in the company car band below the premium badge cars.
“Consequently, given its tax rating and specification levels, we also anticipate the car will appeal to employees choosing a car within a salary sacrifice scheme.”
The first ‘Business Line’ Mazda6 hatchbacks will hit British roads towards the end of summer.
