Zenith Provecta tell employees ‘On yer bike’

Provecta has kickstarted a new bike-to-work scheme in a bid to control its carbon footprint and boost fitness amongst employees.

It may operate over 29,000 vehicles from a HQ in one of the hilliest parts of Britain, but take-up is said to have been healthy so far.

“Our new Bike to Work scheme has already generated a lot of interest,” said Ian Hughes, Commercial Director of Yorkshire-based Zenith Provecta.

“Our employees are very aware of the advantages of cycling to work, in terms of its impact on the environment and their fitness and it can often be quicker than using a car on congested roads.”

The Bike to Work scheme works via a Salary Sacrifice mechanism where employees choose a new bike which Zenith Provecta buys and is leased to the worker who repays the cost over a year.

Zenith Provecta claim that the scheme is cost efficient because the cost of the lease to the employee is taken from gross salary, producing tax savings.
