Volkswagen Group Leasing enjoys fruitful debut
Volkswagen Group Leasing (VGL) has made a splash in its first month of trading by securing 30 public sector contracts.
Counting the NHS and various local authorities amongst its clients, Managing Director Graham Wheeler (pictured) believes the fleet provider has a promising future after being picked as one of the Government’s go-to suppliers in the Buying Solutions contract bidding process.
“This is an exciting time for VGL and it was impressive to see our first month’s trading deliver such a wide range of clients,” he said.
“The top brand ordered was Skoda but, typical of VGL’s multi-marque solution, orders were placed for vehicles from over 15 brands.”
The fleet and leasing arm of Volkswagen Financial Services stepped up its game at the back end of May by launching its online CALMS2 procurement solution which has generated over 25,000 quotes so far.
CALMS2 is implemented from White Clarke Group whose Chairman Ed White said: “This whole project has very much been one of partnership, the way we like to work with all our clients.
“Its modern object-oriented architecture makes CALMS2 an ideal candidate for any fleet management undertaking, particularly where significant bespoke work may be required. We are delighted to have had this opportunity to help Volkswagen Financial Services open up a rich new seam of sales opportunities.”
Last month, VGL named Martin Philips as their new Head of Fleet Operations who has been responsible for delivering efficient and scalable services to VGL customers whilst ensuring fleet operations staff remain up on industry knowledge and expertise.
