“Astonishing” first six months for Quartix as business doubles
Vehicle trackers Quartix saw business more than double in the first half of 2011 in comparison to the same period last year.
The number of fleet tracking installations exceeded 10,000, a rise of 124% during the first six months of 2011 which is set to generate a turnover of £8m by the end of the year.
MD Andy Walters said the company is bagging around 100 new customers every month and pinned their recent success on the “astonishing” reaction to the introduction of 12 month and pay-as-you-go type contracts.
Andy believes the positive response was partly down to ensuring clients don’t feel tied down by long term contracts.
“Customers no longer want to sign third-party finance agreements over multiple years, because they are aware of the risks and costs associated with them,” Mr Walters said.
“We still appear to be unique in the industry in having the financial strength and confidence to promote this direct rental approach, based on contracts of 12 months or fewer.”
Quartix is staying realistic for the rest of the year however and expects the boom in business to level out no less than 60%.
Friends in France
The tracking specialists will also expand further into Europe with intentions to develop a strong relationship with distributors in France.
“Although it is still early days for us, we have already won some significant French customers,” added Andy.
“We will maintain our focus on organic growth, which has served us well over the first 10 years of our company’s existence.”
Founded in 2001, Quartix designs telematics hardware to database and user applications. The company expects to launch a range of new software features focusing on driving behaviour and risk assessment in the early autumn, in addition to the release of its latest generation telematics system.
