Tyresafe welcomes Peugeot and Citroen on board
Peugeot and Citroen are the latest names that have pledged their backing to Tyresafe.
The campaign which promotes the importance of proper tyre maintenance now boasts 15 car manufacturers amongst its growing list of supporters.
Using both their own individual and TyreSafe campaign materials, the French manufacturers will seek to raise awareness on the dangers of worn and unsuitable tyres.
TyreSafe Chairman Stuart Jackson was looking forward to forging a mutually beneficial working relationship with “such influential” brands.
“Car and passenger safety has always been a high priority for Peugeot and Citroen, as demonstrated by their tyre pressure monitoring systems, customer education programmes and free tyre safety checks,” he commented.
“However, they will now be able to go even further spreading the tyre safety message at their UK dealerships, among other places, with our TyreSafe literature, which is packed full of sensible advice for motorists.”
Positive contribution
David Higgins, Peugeot’s Parts and Service Director, said: “We are delighted to join TyreSafe and help spread the tyre safety message to our customers and staff alike.
“By combining our commitment to developing technological safety innovations and this key education platform, we hope we can make a positive contribution and reduce the number of road casualties that occur each year.”
PSA Peugeot Citroen spends a tenth of its research budget on safety and investigates new technological solutions each year in an effort to prevent accidents and reduce their impact.
Mr Jackson concluded: “Tyre safety is a message that cannot be ignored, so it’s great news to have such influential industry players joining our ever-expanding team.”
TyreSafe will host its first ever quarterly communications briefing next month too.
“This is a great opportunity for anyone in the tyre and wider automotive industry or road safety professionals to understand what TyreSafe does, how we work with our partners and understand what’s available to them and how they can become involved,” explained Mr Jackson.
“I’m sure that attendees will find it extremely valuable and informative and I look forward to seeing as many people as possible there.”
