NEW, AMENDED AND ONGOING WORKS

DERBYSHIRE
New – A38 Watchorn to M1 junction 28
Start Date: Wednesday, 17 August End Date: Wednesday, 24 August
Times: 8.00pm to 5.00am

Traffic Management:
Northbound only carriageway closure overnight for re-lining. A signed diversion route will be in place during these hours.

Ongoing – A38 Little Eaton to Coxbench
Start Date: Monday, 8 August End Date: Tuesday, 23 August
Times: 8.00pm to 5.00am

Traffic Management:
Northbound only carriageway closure overnight for re-lining. A signed diversion route will be in place during these hours.

LEICESTERSHIRE

Updated – M1/M6 Catthorpe Viaduct replacement, M1 junction 19
Start Date: July 2010 End Date: April 2012
Times: 24/7 with various other closures to be implemented.

Traffic Management:
M1 northbound – two lanes only running from straight after the M6 northbound exit slip road until the junction 19 entry slip road, with narrow lanes and a 50mph speed restriction until October 2011.M1 southbound – two lanes only from the junction 19 exit slip road to the M6 southbound entry slip road, with narrow lanes and a 50mph speed restriction until late October 2011.M6 southbound – a lane closure and 50 mph speed limit is in place on the M6 from just after the A14 exit slip road to where the M6 joins the M1 until Christmas 2011. A stepped speed limit is in place on the M6 from 0.5 miles west of the A5 underpass until the A5 underpass, which will take the speed limit from 70mph to 60mph and then down to 50mph.

NOTTINGHAMSHIRE

Ongoing – A52 Bramcote to QMC
Start Date: Tuesday, 19 July End Date: Late October
Times: Monday to Saturday, 9.30am to 3.30pm, overnight as required

Traffic Management:
Narrow lanes and a 30mph speed limit in place throughout with various lane closures as required. Traffic management will alter as works progress including some overnight closures. Works will reduce congestion and increase capacity on this stretch of the A52.

Ongoing – A46 Newark to Widmerpool, East Bridgford
Start Date: Monday, 25 July End Date: Late August
Times: 24/7

Traffic Management:
Butt Lane is closed in order to connect new and existing road surfaces with traffic diverted via Kirk Hill, but is due to reopen overnight on Sunday 21 August. Traffic will then travel across the new bridge.

Ongoing – A46 Newark to Widmerpool, Colston Road near Cropwell Bishop
Start Date: April 2011 End Date: December 2011
Times: 24/7

Traffic Management:
Colston Road and Radcliffe Road are closed to allow the works to the bridge and new side road to be completed. Once re-opened access to the A46 will not be possible.

Ongoing – A46 Newark to Widmerpool, widening the carriageway

Widmerpool to Cropwell ButlerCropwell Butler to ScrevetonScreveton (Lodge Lane) to Farndon
Start Date: September 2009 End Date: April 2012
Times: 4.30pm to 6am

Traffic Management:
Carriageway closures, temporary traffic lights, speed restrictions, verge working and works off the carriageway. Lodge Lane, Elston, which has been closed since 1 August, will re-open by 25 August.

Ongoing – A46 Newark to Widmerpool, widening the carriageway, Saxondale roundabout
Start Date: October 2010 End Date: Winter 2011
Times: 24/7

Traffic Management:
Traffic approaching the Saxondale roundabout from the A46 and A52 is being diverted using the new and existing roundabouts before heading back to continue the journey on the existing carriageways.

Ongoing – A46 Newark to Widmerpool, widening the carriageway, Stragglethorpe junction
Start Date: June 2010 End Date: October 2011
Times: 24/7

Traffic Management:
Traffic is diverted via the new northbound entry and exit slip roads, and via the new western roundabout as appropriate. All traffic management is signed for road users.

Owthorpe junction to Stragglethorpe junction traffic is being diverted off the old A46 onto a new section of carriageway. Access into Cotgrave is not possible via Colston Gate. This change allows work to the new bridge and side road to progress. On completion of the work direct access to the A46 will not be possible.
