TomTom’s Webfleet secures alarming £22k fuel saving
A security firm has shaved £22,000 from its fleet fuel costs following the introduction of a fleet management solution from TomTom.
Christie Intruder Alarms’ 80-vehicle fleet has supped 1,000 litres less every month for the past year as a result of integrating TomTom’s Webfleet management system.
Andy Jenkins, Technical Director for the Hampshire-based company, said Webfleet has been highly successful in helping cut fuel costs.
“The system has made our business more efficient and improved our environmental impact,” he commented.
“Through improved routing between customers, reduced engine idling by avoiding traffic congestion, reduced speeding and the better allocation of vehicles to jobs, the company has recorded an outstanding £22,000 saving over the course of one year.”
Straighten out speeders
The dash-mounted TomTom tracking units are paired with GO navigation devices to allow two-way messaging while journey times are kept trim thanks to live traffic information provided through TomTom’s HD Traffic service.
Webfleet also produces business mileage reports and driver speeds to allow fleet operators straighten out serial speeders.
“Our customers love it,” concludes Andy. “Being in a position to provide them with accurate arrival times has been fantastic.”
