First look as super secret Civic peeks under the Honda curtain
Brace yourselves, this is the world’s first actual look at Honda’s new Civic. Awe-inspiring, isn’t it?
In case you’re suspecting something’s gone wrong, no, we didn’t post the wrong shot or botch the crop, this is everything Honda are prepared to unveil of their super secret Civic for now.
Security has been intense regarding the ninth generation hatchback with shots of non-descript test models draped in matt black paintwork popping up for performance-based teasers only, however the allegedly refreshed design will be officially unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show on 13 September.
The Civic’s appearance has apparently gone through a near complete overhaul while ride, handling, CO2 emissions, interior quality, and space throughout the model have all been optimised.
Pictures of the model may be limited to just this one, but Honda do disclose that this lovely looking bumper carries a rear combination light that doubles up as a spoiler.
The Japanese manufacturer adds: “The aerodynamic design of the spoiler manages the air flowing over the top and the sides of the car; this is just one example of how the new Civic has been refined.”
With tempting running costs and assuring reliability thrown in to appeal to the fleet market, we’ll see how the secrecy pays off when the European-focussed five door model arrives in showrooms early next year.
