North East roadworks update 3 to 9 September 2011
A1(M), Junction 56, County Durham
Slight delays are expected on the A1(M) at Junction 56 for carriageway repairs. There will be one lane open on the southbound exit slip road between 8pm and 6am. The works will take place 9 – 10 September.
A1, Purdy Lodge, Northumberland
Slight delays are expected on the A1 at Purdy Lodge for carriageway resurfacing works. There will be traffic lights in operation north and southbound between 8pm and 6am. The works will take place until 4 September.
A1, Tritlington to Felton, Northumberland
Slight delays are expected on the A1 between Tritlington and Felton for road marking works. There will be convoy working in place and a 10mph speed limit north and southbound between 7pm and 8am. The works will take place 5 – 26 September.
A66, Winston Cross Roads, County Durham
Slight delays are expected on the A66 at Winston Cross Roads for carriageway repairs. There will be one lane open westbound between 8pm and 6am. The works will take place 9 – 10 September.
A1, Scremerston to Highfields Roundabout, Northumberland
Slight delays are expected on the A1 at various locations between Scremerston and Highfields Roundabout for electrical works. There will be one lane open north and southbound between 9.30am and 3.30pm. The works will take place 5 – 23 September.
A1, Denton Burn to North Brunton, Newcastle Gateshead Western Bypass, Tyne and Wear
Slight delays are expected on the A1 between Denton Burn and North Brunton Interchanges for resurfacing works. There will be a full closure southbound with diversion in place between 10pm and 6am. The works will take place 7 – 10 September.
A1, Consett Route Interchange, Newcastle Gateshead Western Bypass, Tyne and Wear
Slight delays are expected on the A1 at the Consett Route Interchange for electrical works. There will be one lane open north and southbound between 8pm and 6am. The works will take place 6 – 7 September.
A66, Preston on Tees, Teesside
Slight delays are expected on the A66 at Preston on Tees for resurfacing works. There will be one lane open westbound between 8pm and 6am. The works will take place 6 – 7 September.
A1 Eighton Lodge to Lobley Hill, Newcastle Gateshead Western Bypass, Tyne and Wear
Slight delays are expected on the A1 between Eighton Lodge and Lobley Hill Interchange for resurfacing and sign works. There will be a full closure with diversion in place ollowed by a lane closure northbound between 9pm and 6am. The works will take place 5 – 6 September.
A1 Lobley Hill to Kingsway, Newcastle Gateshead Western Bypass, Tyne and Wear
Slight delays are expected on the A1 between Lobley Hill and Kingsway Interchanges for sign works. There will be one lane open southbound between 9pm and 5.30am. The works will take place 5 – 6 September.
A66, Neasham Road to Morton Palms, Darlington Bypass, County Durham
Slight delays are expected on the A66 between Neasham Road and Morton Palms for resurfacing works. There will be a full closure eastbound with diversion in place and narrow lanes westbound between 8pm and 6am. The works will take place 5 – 7 September.
A1M, Junction 61, County Durham
Slight delays are expected on the A1M at Junction 61 for electrical works. There will be one lane open on all slip roads and the roundabout between 8pm and 6am. The works will take place 5 – 6 September.
A66 Boldron, County Durham
Slight delays are expected on the A66 at Boldron for resurfacing works. There will be convoy working and contraflow in operation east and westbound between 8pm and 6am. The works will take place 5 – 10 September.

Slight delays are expected on the A1 at the Consett Route Interchange for barrier works. There will be a northbound exit slip road closure between 8pm and 5.30am. The works will take place 3 – 4 September.
A1, Alnwick to Newton on the Moor, Northumberland
Slight delays are expected on the A1 between Alnwick and Newton on the Moor for resurfacing and construction works. There will be a 24 hour contraflow and lane closures in place north and southbound. The works will take place until November.
A1 Dishforth (Junction 49) to Leeming, North Yorkshire
Slight delays are expected on the A1 between Dishforth (Junction 49) and Leeming (A684) for upgrading works. There will be narrow lanes, a contraflow and a 50mph speed limit operating 24 hours for full length of scheme both north and southbound.
Works will be ongoing until Spring 2012.
A19, Holystone to Wallsend Interchange, North Tyneside
Slight delays are expected overnight on the A19 between Holystone and Wallsend Interchanges for widening works at the Silverlink roundabout. There will be one lane open north and southbound between 8pm and 6am. The works will take place until September.
