Skoda Octavia marks up three major achievements

Silver Skoda Octavia 2010The good time just keep rolling for Skoda’s Octavia.

Just as the model celebrates its tenth anniversary, the Czech manufacturer has announced that the 10,000th Octavia has just been sold to the fleet sector.

In light of this fleet sales landmark, the UK has been declared the largest market for the Octavia and Fabia vRS.

The achievement comes not long after a modified Octavia vRS broke a landspeed record, reaching 227.080 mph on Utah’s legendary Bonneville Salt Flat and smashing the previous G/PS record of 216 mph, set in August 1998.

Martin Burke, Head of Fleet Sales at UK, said it was a “truly stunning achievement”.

He commented: “Our goal was to break 200 mph as a celebration of 10 years of vRS, and we have achieved that, and significantly more.

“To come at the same time as we celebrate reaching the 10,000 mark on our vRS fleet sales is certainly nsomething to be proud of.

“The success is a tribute to everyone who has worked so tirelessly and with such passion to make ŠKODA a record breaking, world beater.”

Ten years, 10,000th fleet sales and a landspeed record - enough reason to celebrate I guess...
