Motorists advised to continue to take extra care at Junction 10 of the A14
The Highways Agency is advising motorists using the A14 that a fire at a waste recycling plant close to the A14 at junction 10 near Burton Latimer in Northamptonshire is continuing to cause smoke to blow over the carriageway and reducing visibility for road users.
Local fire crews continue to battle the fire at Blackbridge Farm in Burton Latimer after initially responding to a call on Tuesday 11 October.
Mark Fisher, Highways Agency Operations Manager said:
“The fire continues to cause smoke to blow over the carriageway, affecting visibility. We urge motorists to extra take when using this stretch of the A14 and will continue to use road side signs to alert motorists when visibility is affected.”
Motorists who have to travel through the smoke should keep car windows closed, turn off any air conditioning and keep air vents closed.
