French companies test the EV water with Kangoo Z.E.
Some of the largest companies in France will discover the effectiveness of EVs as business cars first hand after snapping up over 15,000 electric vans from Renault.
Up to 19 companies have ordered a total of 15,637 Kangoo Z.E. models with national mail service La Poste accounting for two-thirds of them.
Other takers include utility company ERDF (1,200 units), online department store UGAP (1,200), Veolia Environnement (510) and GDF-Suez (450).
J. Stoll, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing & LCVs, said: “This success by Renault confirms the relevance of our electric vehicle offering – products and services alike – with business customers.
“The 19 large companies acquiring Kangoo Z.E. were attracted to its intrinsic qualities and by our original business model, based in particular on battery rental.
“I would like to warmly thank the customers in the call for bids that placed their trust in us and the Renault employees that made this possible.”
Priced from €15,000 or £16,990 to us on British soil, the order book for the Renault Kangoo Z.E has been open in France since the end of September.
The other companies taking part in the call for bids include ADP, Air France, Areva, Bouygues, Eiffage, France Télécom Orange, GRT Gaz, RATP, SAUR, SNCF, SPIE, and Vinci et Véolia.
The Kangoo Z.E. is set to go on sale in the UK next month.
