Hitachi Capital shapes KPMG’s new salary sacrifice scheme

A specially adapted salary sacrifice car scheme has been devised by Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions for KPMG.

The company’s previous company car scheme was only open to KPMG employees of manager grade and above but the ‘CarFlex’ salary sacrifice scheme does away with any barriers, inviting all KMPG employees; an extra 6,500 staff members in total.

Employees of manager status or higher can choose from almost any four-seater, fully-maintained vehicle while those emitting 160g/km of CO2 or more include an additional charge to push takers towards greener vehicles.

“We wanted to replace our legacy company car scheme which was only available to managers and operated through a car allowance paid on top of salary,” explained Kathryn Batchelor, Benefits Manager at KPMG.

“In doing so, we decided to review our salary sacrifice offering to provide a flexible benefit that is open to all employees – not just managers that is aligned to our reward strategy, supports our environment goals and contributes to our employer of choice agenda.

“Launched in the middle of August, the new CarFlex scheme has now been rolled out across our entire UK business, opening up company car provision via salary sacrifice to 11,000 people eligible within the company and more than 5,000 people have now signed up to discover more information.”

Phil Peace, Director of Sales at Hitachi CapitalPhil Peace, Director of Sales at Hitachi Capital [left], added that the new scheme has seen phenomenal interest so far.

“We have worked with KPMG for over 20 years now and they are a valued customer. We are pleased to continue our relationship by providing this benefit offering for its employees,” he said.

“The scheme was built, tested and implemented by our highly skilled team and is the first of its kind for Hitachi Capital.”
