Fleet Alliance offers free driver checks for Road Safety Week

Driver Checks ensure that drivers are qualified to drive and do not have excess points on their licences. is getting behind Week by laying on free online Driver Checks for all fleet operators that sign up this week.

The offer includes a free initial driving licence check for every fleet driver which investigates if a driver has ever passed a test, carries a driving ban, is entitled to drive the category of vehicle they are driving, or has any undisclosed points or endorsements on their licence.

Martin Brown [pictured below], Fleet Alliance MD, reckons: “This is a great way for companies to support Road Safety Week and ensure their drivers are legally compliant at the same time.”

Crucial

Fleet Alliance MD Martin BrownHealth and Safety guidelines recommend that drivers’ licences are checked when they join a company or are first invited to drive on behalf of the company.

Driver Checks ensure that drivers are qualified to drive and do not have excess points on their licences.

Unfortunately, many fleet managers don’t have the time or resources to check drivers’ details on a regular basis.

“Licence checking is a crucial part of duty of care and is essential for a company in meeting its obligations to its employees and the public at large,” added Mr Brown.

“This unique opportunity is open to all companies who want to make a contribution to the road safety effort and ensure, at the same time, they are fulfilling their duty of care obligations.”

All proceeds that would have typically been received through the Driver Checks will be passed on to road safety charity Brake – organisers of Road Safety Week which runs until this Sunday [27 November].
