Skoda Yeti to keep Herts doctors moving this winter
Doctors in Hertfordshire are ready for whatever the British winter months have to throw at them after loaning a new Skoda Yeti 4×4.
Herts Urgent Care (HUC) became uncomfortably stretched during last winter’s snowy deluge, struggling to reach patients in remote areas, however there shouldn’t be a reprise of these troubles this time after Skoda loaned the service an extra Skoda Yeti, in addition to HUC’s 10-strong fleet of Yetis.
With the service providing out of hours GP cover, Rachel Fox, Executive Chairman of HUC, said that Skoda were helping not just the doctors but the patients too.
“Despite having good road links in Hertfordshire, its rural nature means that some parts can rapidly become inaccessible in bad weather,” she commented.
“We’d like to thank Skoda for its kind loan of an additional vehicle. It will be a big help in ensuring we can continue to provide an out-of-hours service to the public in difficult circumstances this winter.”

Skoda has etched out a comfy niche as the preferred choice of medical professionals with the East Midlands Ambulance Service ordering over 60 Octavia Scout 4×4 fast response models and the Leeds Ambulance Service taking a shine to the Superb Estate.
Martin Burke, Head of Fleet at Skoda UK, said the Yeti bears the right mix of on-road performance, family practicality and 4×4 prowess.
He added: “We’re delighted to be able to help HUC and hope an additional Yeti will enable the team to keep up its fantastic service. The Yeti is safe, extremely reliable and extremely capable of tackling the demanding winter weather conditions.”
In other news, Skoda recently broke its previous annual sales record of 41,240 units and could plough on through the 45,000 barrier before the end of the year [more on that here].
