New bus and coach clients for GreenRoad

is piling new customers in by the busload, quite literally.

The driver performance and safety management specialists have accrued almost 1,000 extra drivers with the addition of six transport companies to its portfolio.

Network Warrington, Rossendale Transport, D&G Bus, Newport Transport, Dews Coaches and Stephensons of Essex all hope to significantly reduce crash incidents with GreenRoad, maximising fuel consumption in the process by enhancing driver performance behind the wheel.

Matthew Parkes, Financial Director at Rossendale Transport, explained why he opted for GreenRoad: “We are continuously evaluating new ways keep our drivers and passengers safe. We chose GreenRoad as it has been widely adopted across the bus sector and is proven to cut risk significantly.

“By encouraging our team of professional drivers to take responsibility for their driving behaviour we are expecting to enhance passenger comfort and reduce operating costs.”

Skill and professionalism

Newport Transport spends almost £1.2m a year on new vehicles and currently boasts a fleet of more than 90 buses.

Scott Pearson, MD at Newport Transport, said that investing in GreenRoad’s services recognises the high level of skill and professionalism necessary to be a good bus driver.

“We have one of the best groups of bus drivers in Wales and the adoption of GreenRoad will enable us to continue developing and improving their skills,” added Scott.

“With support for positive driving, our bus drivers will gain the recognition and praise they deserve for doing their jobs well. And in circumstances where a driver falls short of this level, GreenRoad provides online support and recommendations on how to improve.”

Companies with GreenRoad can view real-time, comprehensive feedback, online reporting, analysis and coaching on their abilities, manoeuvres and patterns.
