BMW 1 Series claims ‘Business Car of the Year’ award
BMW’s 1 Series has been named the 2012 Business Car of the Year by readers of BusinessCar magazine and website. The German car maker performed well in the awards, also walking away with the Manufacturer of the Year prize and claiming the Green Model of the Year prize with the highly efficient 320d ED model.
What’s more there were sector wins for the 3-Series, 7-Series and X5, as well as the BMW Group’s Mini hatchback.
Jaguar, Audi, Land Rover, Ford and Fiat also claimed category prizes while the AA collected a remarkable four awards including Service Supplier of the Year.
"BMW’s impressive and class-leading combination of desirability, efficiency and driving pleasure has again shown itself with this haul of awards, decided by the readers of BusinessCar, proving that the brand is at the forefront of the company car market," said BusinessCar Editor Paul Barker. "Across the range there is a model for every level of employee, each one offering low tax bills, good running costs and the premium BMW badge. The people running these vehicles and giving them to their staff obviously appreciate the job BMW is doing."
"The 1-series is a step forward from its already impressive predecessor, with BMW ironing out the few weaknesses to make a very attractive business car in terms of emissions and economy, handling and increased practicality, so it’s easy to see why BusinessCar readers would select it as their favourite new car, and therefore 2012 Business Car of the Year," said Barker.
The BMW 1 Series is available to buy or lease now with prizes starting from £18,030.
