Peugeot to debut 208 at EV & Low CO2 Fleet Show
Fleet managers will be some of the first people in Britain to get an eyeful of Peugeot’s new 208 when it is unveiled at the EV & Low CO2 Fleet Show in April.
The new 208 is set to launch with five sub 99g/km diesel engines this June and the French manufacturer reckon that the Silverstone event is a great chance to show off its fleet advantages.
“Peugeot sees Fleet World’s EV & Low CO2 event at Silverstone as the perfect springboard to launch the new 208,” said Phil Robson [pictured], Peugeot’s Fleet Director.
“The EV & Low CO2 Fleet Show is the ideal opportunity with the ideal attendees to show off these exciting new products.
“The event will allow customers to get up close and personal with our new editions, the ultra low emissions of the new 208 engine line-up and the pioneering 508 RXH Diesel HYbrid4 – a 200bhp, 4WD vehicle which emits a meagre 107g/km of CO2 and, for a 40% taxpayer, a BIK monthly cost of only £130.”
Unique insight
Other manufacturers confirmed for the EV & Low CO2 Fleet Show include Toyota, Lexus, and Infiniti. The latter named will be showcasing the M35h hybrid saloon [seen below] which was best in class at last year’s ALD Automotive / Shell FuelSave MPG Marathon.
Ross Durkin, Managing Editor of show organisers Fleet World, was delighted Peugeot that had picked the EV & Low CO2 Fleet Show to debut the 208 supermini to fleets.
He commented: “The new 208 seems certain to attract a lot of attention from show visitors. The new model has the bulk of its engines under the 99g/km limit and this will make it extremely efficient from a company car tax point of view.
“This year’s show will give fleet decision makers a unique insight into the many and varied engine technologies that are available today, from the very latest low carbon diesel and petrol models, to both petrol and now diesel electric hybrids and through to pure electric vehicle offerings.”
The EV & Low CO2 Fleet Show will open 18 April at Silverstone race circuit. Free tickets along with further details are available from evfleetshow.co.uk.
