Veolia refuels fleet with Toyota Auris Hybrid
Nearly 30 Toyota Auris Hybrids have been added to Veolia Environmental Services’ sales fleet as part of the group’s efforts to reducing its carbon footprint.
The model’s 74mpg and 89g/km carbon emissions should certainly help enhance Veolia’s environmental performance while 10% Benefit in Kind and the exclusion of road tax will also keep a lid on operating costs.
David Lusher, Executive Director of Veolia Environmental Services UK, said that hybrids will become an increasingly dominant feature in their fleet.
He commented: “We fully recognise our responsibility in relation to sustainability and anticipate that after this initial trial, our hybrid fleet will continue to grow.
“Hybrid technology is an alternative that Veolia has been actively following in all areas of its fleet for cars as well as light and heavy commercial vehicles.”
Capable of more than 700 miles on one tank, the 28 newly-delivered Toyota Auris petrol Hybrids represent the first policy driven implementation of this technology to Veolia’s car fleet, a significant step from a user choice basis of Toyota Prius.
Toyota is expected to expand its hybrid range with the launch of the Yaris Hybrid this summer.
