The potential for cost savings is the biggest attraction for employees obtaining a vehicle through a salary sacrifice scheme, according to findings from a new survey.
Leasing, fleet management and vehicle outsourcing company Zenith asked 1,200 salary sacrifice drivers what drew them most to acquiring a car through a salary sacrifice scheme.
More than four in ten said it was the greater possibility for cost savings followed by the prospect of hassle-free motoring with fixed costs which caught 32% of the vote.
For 11% of drivers, it was the benefit to the environment while 9% were keen on the choice and flexibility provided by a salary sacrifice car scheme.
5% of respondents liked how the scheme was accessible to more than just existing company car drivers and the remaining 2% preferred the ability to use the scheme to fund a second family car.
Although little more than one in ten were attracted by the environmental plus-points, Zenith say that employees do lean towards a car with emissions well below the emission cap for a scheme, in a bid to increase their savings.
