Overnight surface repair work starting next week will improve journeys on the A34 near Winchester, Hampshire.
The work will involve overnight carriageway and slip road closures.
Surinder Bhangu, Highways Agency Project Sponsor said; "The work is required to repair surface defects, ensuring it remains in a safe and serviceable condition. The work has been carefully planned to be carried out overnight, between 10pm and 6am, Monday to Friday nights only, when traffic flows are lowest, to minimise disruption to road users."
The A34 will be closed between its junction with the A303 (Bullington Cross) and its junction with the A33 (Kings Worthy). Road users will be directed to follow a fully signed diversion via the A303 and A33.
The southbound carriageway will be closed from Monday 25 June until Wednesday 4 July.
The northbound carriageway will be closed from Thursday 5 July until Friday 13 July.
The northbound and southbound entry slip roads at its junction with the A272 (Three Maids Hill) will also be closed as required.
