NEW WORK
M1 J11 - J13 BEDFORDSHIRE, CLOSURE FOR BRIDGE DEMOLITION
The M1 will be closed overnight for 16 hours between Junction 11 (Luton) and Junction 13 (Bedford) while a bridge over the motorway is demolished. The motorway is scheduled to be closed from 8pm on Saturday 30 June until midday on Sunday 1 July while the 1,400-tonne bridge at Junction 12 is removed. The reinforced concrete bridge, which used to carry the A5120 over the M1, has not been used since a new bridge opened in May, and needs to be demolished to make way for new slip roads at Junction 12.
M1 J10 TO J13 BEDFORDSHIRE, HARD SHOULDER SCHEME
Work is taking place to provide additional capacity on the motorway by converting the hard shoulder into an extra lane. Upgrades are also being carried out to bridges along the route. Traffic is being diverted along the opposite carriageway for part of the route, and a 50mph speed limit is in place. The following slip roads will also be closed between 10pm and 6am:
Monday 25 June - Junction 10 northbound entry, Junction 13 southbound entry
Tuesday 26 June - Junction 11 southbound entry, Junction 13 southbound entry and northbound exit and entry
Wednesday 27 June - Junction 10 southbound exit
Thursday 28 June - Junction 10 northbound exit
Friday 29 June - Junction 13 northbound exit
Saturday 30 June - Junction 11 northbound entry and southbound exit, Junction 12 northbound exit and southbound exit and entry, Junction 13 southbound entry
A12 HATFIELD PEVEREL, BRIDGE UPGRADES
Work to resurface and improve drainage on a bridge which carries Station Road in Hatfield Peverel, Essex, over the A12 will begin on Sunday 1 July. The majority of the work will be carried out during the day between 7am and 11pm, and temporary traffic lights will be in place on Station Road. Some overnight work will also be necessary, when lane closures on the A12 will be in place. The work is due to be completed by Saturday 21 July.
A12 GREAT YARMOUTH, RESURFACING WORK
The southbound carriageway of the A12 will be closed overnight for six nights between the roundabout at William Adams Way and the roundabout for Gorleston-on-Sea while resurfacing work takes place. The 1.6-mile stretch of road will be closed from 8pm to 6am from Thursday 28 June until Wednesday 4 July. A diversion will be in place.
A12 HOPTON-ON-SEA, ROUNDABOUT UPGRADES
Resurfacing work around the roundabout on Station Road in Hopton-on-Sea will take place overnight for four nights from Monday 25 June. The roundabout will be closed from 8pm to 6am until Friday 29 June, and diversions will be in place.
ONGOING WORK
M1 J14 NEWPORT PAGNELL, LIGHTING UPGRADES
Work to upgrade the street lights at Junction 14 near Newport Pagnell on the M1 is taking place during weeknights until Friday 13 July, starting at 10pm and finishing at 5:30am the following morning. Slip roads and lane 1 of the main carriageway will be closed as follows:
Newport Pagnell services northbound entry and exit slip roads: 22, 25 June
Newport Pagnell services southbound entry and exit slip roads: 5 July
Junction 14 northbound entry slip road: 3-4 July
Junction 14 southbound entry slip road: 6, 9 and 10 July
Diversions will be in place.
M11 J12 CAMBRIDGE, SLIP ROAD REPAIRS
Work to repair the surface and replace road markings of the slip roads at Junction 12 of the M11 near Cambridge is taking place until Tuesday 26 June, starting at 8pm and finishing at 6am the following morning. Slip roads and lane 1 of the main carriageway will be closed as follows:
J12 southbound exit slip road: 25 - 26 June
Southbound traffic wishing to exit at Junction 12 will be diverted to continue southbound and exit at Junction 11 to return on the M11 northbound and exit at Junction 12.
SPEED LIMIT ON A1 SOUTHBOUND AND NORTHBOUND NEAR PETERBOROUGH
A 50mph speed restriction remains in place on the southbound and northbound carriageway of the A1 at Water Newton for safety reasons.
A14 J41 NEAR RISBY, REPAIRS TO THE CENTRAL RESERVATION
Work to repair the central reservation around the Barrow Heath bridge on the A14 near Risby, west of Bury St Edmunds, is taking place during the night until Friday 13 July. The work will start each night at 8pm and will finish the following morning at 6am. It will affect both lanes in both directions and traffic management cones will be in place from the entry slip road of Junction 40, eastbound, and from 800m prior to the Risby flyover, westbound. A 50mph speed limit will be in place on the approach, and a 40mph speed limit through the roadworks.
