Citroen names new Fleet Director

Citroen’s Martin Hamill has been promoted from Head of Commercial Vehicles and Business Sector to Fleet Director.

Part of Citroen for the past 13 years, Mr Hamill, 45, will take up his new office from July 9, following the departure of Andy Wady who is moving on outside the group.

Martin will be responsible for Citroen UK’s National Fleet business and re-marketing used Citroen vehicles. He will report to MD Linda Jackson.

“I’m delighted to take up this important role at such an exciting time for the Brand,” said Hamill.

“The introduction of the DS line and initiatives like our Business Class programme have changed the way we’re perceived right across the industry.

“We will continue to develop our fleet offering and service levels, and I look forward to working closely with my team so that we further build our presence and therefore volumes in the years to come.”

As Head of Commercial Vehicles & Business Sector, Martin has delivered Business Sector car and van sales growth year on year of 39.7% in 2011 and 24.7% to the end of May 2012.

Fourways Vehicle Solutions bags ex-Thrifty MD

Fourways Vehicle Solutions' Andrew Burton Fourways Vehicle Solutions has brought in Andrew Burton as Non-Executive Director.

One-time MD of Thrifty Rent a Car, Burton joins Fourways as the company looks to fuel its rapid expansion strategy following the acquisition of Kar and Van Hire in Oswestry; a move which boosted Fourways’ self-drive offering.

“I was delighted to be able to accept the opportunity to join Fourways in this capacity,” said Andrew.

“I have followed their steady progress since their inception in 2003 and look forward to helping them develop their proposition and presence in the UK market place.”

Andy Brown, MD of Fourways, said that Mr Burton’s philosophy of focusing on customer service would fit in with the Fourways ethos.

He explained: “He has great experience, knowledge and contacts within the UK vehicle rental sector and his presence on our board can only be of benefit to us as we expand our operation.

“Both myself and the rest of the board are delighted that Andrew has agreed to join Fourways. We look forward to profiting from his insight and guidance as we continue on our exciting journey towards substantial growth and greater market share.”


Tracker secures ‘ideal’ head for sales

Fleet telematics and stolen vehicle recovery specialists Tracker has appointed David Wilson as Sales Director.

Boasting 18 years of sales experience and time with British Gas, Rentokil, Npower and as Managing Director of JLD Interim Management, David will aim to fuel sales growth via innovation, customer excellence and sales management.

David said: “Tracker is a market leader in an exciting growth market, making this an ideal opportunity for me to apply my strategic sales expertise in a new industry.

“I will be focusing on driving market expansion, by identifying new business opportunities and developing sales winning strategies, supported by creative solutions, designed to drive up business performance.”

Stephen Doran, Managing Director of Tracker, added: “David’s experience, coupled with his ability to engage quickly with industries, businesses and people, mean he is the ideal person to head up the sales division.
