Bristol M4 East to M5 South link road and M4 West to M5 South link road The M4 East to M5 South link road and M4 West to M5 South link road will be closed overnight on Thursday 28 June from 9pm until 6am the following morning. Traffic travelling East or West on the M4 wishing to join the M5 South at junction 20 will be diverted onto the M5 North, turn at junction 14 and join the M5 Southbound carriageway. The following slip road will also be closed overnight on Thursday 28 June from 9pm until 6am: M5 junction 16 - Southbound exit slip road Traffic travelling South on the M5 wishing to exit at junction 16 will be diverted South to junction 17 and will return to junction 16. M5 junction 17 - Northbound exit and Southbound entry slip roads The Northbound exit and Southbound entry slip roads at junction 17 of the M5 will be closed on Friday 29 June. Traffic travelling North on the M5 wishing to exit at junction 17 will be diverted North to junction 16 and return South to junction 17. Traffic wishing to join the M5 Southbound carriageway at junction 17 will be diverted onto the M5 Northbound carriageway, turn at junction 16 and join the M5 Southbound carriageway. M4 J20 / M5 J14-17 As part of the managed motorway works, there will be a series of week-night closures throughout July. The first set of closures will begin on Tuesday 3rd July through to Thursday 5 July on the M4 and M5 carriageways, from 10pm until 6am the following morning. Clearly signposted diversion routes will be in place throughout the works: Tuesday 3 July: M4 Eastbound and Westbound through junction 20 Wednesday 4 July: M5 Northbound junction16 to 15 and M5 Southbound junction 14-16 Thursday 5 July: M5 Northbound junction 17-15 and M5 Southbound junction 15-16 East Devon M5 Junction 29 Lane closures remain in place on the A30, M5 northbound off-slip and southbound off-slip at Junction 29 as work continues to upgrade the junction. Some lane restrictions are being removed or partially removed during the morning and evening rush hours to minimise delays as much as possible. The right turn from A30 westbound to M5 North also remains closed. Traffic is being diverted via Moor Lane Roundabout, back onto the eastbound carriageway of the A30 to continue northbound on the M5. Routes for cyclists and pedestrians are being maintained through the scheme, with some minor diversions. From 07 December, works to carry out construction activities including carriageway widening, surfacing, drainage, loop cutting and gantry erection works will require the overnight closure of: * the northbound exit slip road at M5 Junction 29; * the northbound entry slip road at M5 Junction 29; * the southbound entry slip road at M5 Junction 29. Only one slip road would be closed at a time. There would also be lane closures through the works. Gloucestershire A40 Trunk Road at Huntley Hill in the District of Forest of Dean Work on the A40 Trunk Road at Huntley Hill, west of Gloucester, will require a 40 miles per hour speed limit from a point 300 metres east of the centre of its junction with Hinders Lane to a point 300 metres west of the centre of its junction with Saunders Close. This measure would be in the interests of road safety until embankment stabilisation works and the installation of a permanent safety barrier can be carried out. The speed limit will last until the danger to the public has ended. Somerset No planned roadworks Wiltshire M4 Junction 15 to 16 Overnight bridge maintenance works between these junctions will be taking place from 11 to 29 June. The work will require the implementation of lane closures and a 50mph speed restriction from 8pm to 6am each night. A419 trunk road - Commonhead Roundabout, Swindon Carriageway surveying and general maintenance works will require the overnight closure of the southbound and northbound carriageways of the A419 Trunk Road between the respective exit and entry slip roads at the A4259 Commonhead Roundabout. It is expected that the works would take place for one night every six weeks between 19 December 2011 and 20 November 2012.
