Charges on the Dartford-Thurrock River Crossing were reinstated at 7.40pm today.
The Highways Agency had temporarily suspended charges northbound on the Crossing as a result of two separate incidents causing a build-up of traffic on the anti-clockwise M25.
The decision to suspend charges had been made at 6pm today to help ease the particularly severe congestion which had built up as a result of the emergency and also to reduce the risk of minor collisions in queuing traffic.
