Roadworks information for Highways Agency roads in the North West – seven days beginning Monday 02 July 2012

NEW SCHEMES

M56 and M60 South Manchester, Junctions 2 and 3
There will be carriageway and slip road closures on the M56 and M60 around Sharston Link and junctions 2 and 3 where the motorways meet while concrete repairs, bridge joint replacement and maintenance works are underway. Work will take place overnight from 10.00pm until 5.00am from Monday 2 July until Saturday 4 August. There will be fully signed diversions in place during these times via the M56, M60, A34 and Princess Parkway.

ONGOING SCHEMES

A55 and M53 Cheshire
Drainage work is underway on the A55 and M53 in Cheshire. There will be carriageway and slip road closures on both roads around Boughton Heath and Vicars Cross junctions between 10.00pm and 5.00am on weekdays and 10.00pm and 7.00am at weekends. Clearly signed diversions will be in place at all times. Work is expected to be complete by Friday 20 July.

M6 Junction 27, Standish
Work is taking place between Friday 15 June and Thursday 23 August when lane three in each direction will be closed around the clock. During this phase there will be narrowed lanes and a 50mph speed limit. The hard shoulder will be used as an additional running lane to ensure three lanes of carriageway are maintained in each direction. Installation and removal of traffic management at the beginning and end of the second phase of the work will require the northbound exit and southbound access slip roads to be closed overnight. Clearly-signed diversions will be in place during these times.

WORK BEING CARRIED OUT BY OTHER AGENCIES ON THE HIGHWAYS AGENCY NETWORK

A663 Chadderton
There is a 30mph speed limit for all traffic on the A663 between Whitegate
Lane and Milton Drive until the end of August, while junction construction and improvement work is carried out.

WORK OFF THE HIGHWAYS AGENCY NETWORK WHICH MAY AFFECT HIGHWAYS AGENCY CUSTOMERS

M6, Junction 31
Drivers are warned of possible delays in the Fulwood area of Preston around the M6 Junction 31a as two extra lanes are added to the motorway slip road, which takes traffic from the motorway onto Bluebell Way. Traffic signals will also be added to the roundabout. The work is being carried out by the council on behalf of the Homes and Communities Agency.
