North East roadworks update 7 – 13 July 2012

A1 Western Bypass, Wide Open to Seaton Burn, Northumberland
Slight delays are expected overnight on the A1 between Wideopen and Seaton Burn for resurfacing works. There will be a full carriageway closure with diversion in place between 8pm and 6am. The works will take place 6 - 12 July southbound and 12 - 14 July northbound.

A1 Western Bypass, Kingston Park to Blaydon
Slight delays are expected overnight on the A1 southbound between Kingston Park and Blaydon for gully cleaning works. There will be one lane open between 8pm and 6am. The works will take place 12 - 14 July.

A1 Western Bypass, Birtley to North Brunton
Slight delays are expected overnight on the A1 southbound between the Metrocentre and Birtley for inspection works. There will be lane closures in place moving southbound each night between 8pm and 6am. The works will take place 9 - 11 July.

A1(M) Junction 57 - 58, County Durham
Slight delays are expected overnight on the A1(M) between Junction 57 and 58 for bridge works. There will be lane closures in place with hard shoulder running between 8pm and 6am. The works will take place 7 - 9 July.

A1(M) Junction 59 - 60, County Durham
Slight delays are expected overnight on the A1(M) between Junction 59 and 60 for resurfacing works. There will be a full closure of the northbound carriageway with diversion in place between 8pm and 6am. The works will take place 9 - 16 July.

A1(M) Junction 63, County Durham
Slight delays are expected overnight on the A1(M) at Junction 63 for bridge works. There will be lane closures and slip closures with diversion in place between 8pm and 6am. The works will take place until 25 July.

A1 North Charlton, Northumberland
Slight delays are expected on the A1 at North Charlton for access construction works. There will be traffic signals in place north and southbound between 8am and 5pm. The works will take place 2 July - 23 August.

A19 Holystone to Silverlink Interchange, North Tyneside
Slight delays are expected overnight on the A19 between Holystone and Silverlink Interchange for resurfacing works. There will be a full southbound carriageway closure with diversion in place between 8pm and 6am. The works will take place 2 - 14 July.

A66, Scotch Corner to end of first section of westbound dual carriageway, County Durham
Slight delays are expected between Scotch Corner and the end of the first section of westbound dual carriageway for pavement renewal, lining and studding works. The works will take place between 5 July and 23 July. Phase one requires a contraflow in place, with all traffic on the east bound carriageway, between Scotch Corner and Hargill junction between 6am on 7 July to 6am on 12 July. During this phase the access to Hargill junction will be closed, with diversions via Winston crossroads. Additional lane closures will be required on 5 and 6 July to install the contraflow.
Phase 2 will follow with the contraflow in place between Hargill Junction and the end of the dual carriageway, with all traffic on the eastbound carriageway. This will be in place from 6am on 14 July to 6am on 20 July. No access to the A66 from northbound traffic will be permitted via Hargill, Winston Crossroads or Warreners Lane. Diversions via Richmond or Scotch Corner will be clearly signed.

A66 Bishopton, Stockton-on-Tees
Slight delays are expected overnight on the A66 at Bishopton for electrical works. There will be one lane open east and westbound between 8pm and 6am. The works will take place 11 - 14 July.
