Work to upgrade a bridge on a busy motorway interchange in Greater Manchester is due to begin on Monday 16 July.
The Highways Agency is carrying out the work to the Eccles Interchange, which connects the M62 to the M60 and M602 in Salford.
The project will see bridge joints being replaced as well as maintenance work to the concrete structure. It is taking place overnight to minimise disruption to motorists, and is due to be completed by Saturday 28 July.
Traffic will either be diverted up to Junction 13 or down to Junction 11 of the M60, when parts of the interchange are closed, and then back along the other side of the motorway. The diversion is expected to add less than ten minutes to most people's journeys.
The interchange will be open as normal during the day but parts of it will be closed between 10pm and 5am during weeknights, and between 10pm and 6am at weekends.
Mark Mosley, the Highways Agency's project manager for the scheme, said: "We've deliberately arranged for this work to take place overnight so that the impact on motorists can be kept to a minimum. The bridge on the Eccles Interchange is heavily used and so it's essential we carry out this maintenance work, which will also involve replacing some of the joints on the bridge. It will take less than two weeks to complete the project, and the diversions should add just a few minutes to the average journey. However, most motorists will be unaffected by the work."
