East Midlands Motorway and Trunk Road Works Programme; Monday 16 July to Sunday 22 July

16 July 2012

NOTTINGHAMSHIRE

Ongoing - A46 Newark to Widmerpool

Traffic is now running on all sections of the new A46 carriageway. Most of the dual carriageway has been opened to 70 mph running.

Some lane closures still required for verge work and planting and there are 40 mph speed restrictions in place on all approaches to A46 works areas. Details below

The old A46 between Saxondale and Margidunum remains closed in both directions to allow for the completion of the new roundabout at Margidunum Junction. During this time the slip road will be available for use. This stretch is due to re-open by late July 2012.

Road users are advised to follow road signs rather than rely on Sat Nav systems which will not have been updated with the new road layout at this stage
