The Highways Agency will be carrying out resurfacing work on the M62 Junction 34 westbound entry slip road near Knottingley next week.
The work will take place from 30 July to 4 August, between 8pm and 6am and will be carried out at night in order to minimise disruption to drivers. During the work the entry slip road will be closed and a clearly signed diversion route will be in place.
Drivers will leave the A19 at Eggborough and travel west onto the A645 Weeland Road carrying on to the A645 Pontefract Road. Drivers will then head south onto the A162 towards Ferrybridge accessing the M62 westbound at Junction 33.
Highways Agency project manager, Alan Apps, said: "This work will improve the road surface and reduce the need for further roadworks in the area. We have planned these works carefully to minimise the disruption to drivers and local residents. During the works we advise road users to plan their journeys to avoid delays. Safety is our top priority and for the safety of road users and roadworkers we encourage all drivers to drive carefully along the diversion routes, keeping within the speed limit, and concentrating on the road ahead."
