A traffic management summary for both new and ongoing work

M4 Junction 14 (Hungerford) Bridge Support Replacement Scheme
A major maintenance scheme continues this week to replace the bridge supports on the M4 Junction 14 roundabout near Hungerford.
There is a lane closure and reduced 30mph speed limit on the junction 14 roundabout below the motorway. On the exit slip roads at junction 14, drivers should use the left hand lane if they are taking the first exit at the roundabout, and the right hand lane for any other exit.
Road users are advised to drive with extra care through these roadworks, and to be aware that site traffic will be using the single lane section on the roundabout to access the centre of the roundabout.
The work is expected to be completed in January 2013.
M4 Junction 14 Carriageway Maintenance Work
Road surface repairs are now nearing completion on both carriageways of the M4 at junction 14 (Shefford Woodlands). The work is taking place between Wickham and Poughley.
Resurfacing work is due to be completed by Thursday 2 August and will then be followed by five nights of overnight work to reinstate the communication sensors in the carriageway.
Lane closures and a temporary speed limit of 50mph are in place overnight between 9pm and 5.30am.
M4 Junction 14 - 15 Baydon Safety Barrier Maintenance Work
Maintenance work will start this week to the safety barrier along the M4 eastbound and westbound verges between the Baydon Road Bridge and the Peaks Down Bridge.
The work is scheduled to start on Monday 30 July for approximately three weeks and will take place overnight (10pm to 6am, Monday to Friday) using a closure of the hard-shoulder and lane 1. Some work will be undertaken on the eastbound verge during daytime hours using a closure of the hard-shoulder.
M4 Junction 14 - 15 Foxhill Carriageway Maintenance Work
Carriageway maintenance work is taking place to repair surface defects on the westbound M4 near Foxhill. Work will also take place on the eastbound carriageway to replace communication sensors across the carriageway near Liddington.
The work is scheduled to start on Friday 3 August for six nights (Monday to Friday only) and will be carried out overnight (10pm to 6am, Monday to Friday). During these hours there will be lane closures on both the east and westbound carriageways and a temporary 50mph speed restriction.
M3 Hawley Lane Bridge Strengthening Work
A scheme to strengthen the M3 Hawley Lane Bridge, just south of junction 4 near Farnborough, continues this week. A new bridge pier will be installed along the centre of the structure to maintain the safe standard of the structure.
Work started on Monday 5 March with no restrictions on the M3, and a 30mph speed limit on the B3272 which runs under the motorway. The work is expected to be completed by the end of October.
Work will primarily be carried out during daytime hours, with some work carried out overnight between 10pm and 6am and at weekends.
A3(M) Junction 2-3 Southbound Embankment Work
Work will take place to improve a 50 metre section of the embankment and carry out minor drainage repairs on the southbound A3(M) between junctions 2 and 3 near Waterlooville.
The work will take place between 9.30am and 4pm from Monday 30 July for two weeks and will require a 24-hour hard shoulder closure.
A3 Potters Lane to Stoke Interchange Surface Repairs
Surface repairs are taking place on the southbound A3 between the junction with Potters Lane and the Stoke Interchange, north of Guildford. The work will be carried out overnight (10pm to 6am) from Monday 30 July to Wednesday 1 August. Lanes 2 and 3 will be closed, with road users being escorted in convoy in lane 1.
A3/A272 Sheet Link Railway Bridge Deck Joint Replacement
Deck joint replacement work is taking place on the east side of the A3 Sheet Link Railway Bridge near Petersfield. The work will take place overnight (10pm to 6am) on Wednesday 1 August. The eastbound exit slip road will be closed at this time, along with lane 1 of the Sheet Link Road.
Road users wishing to leave the A3 will need to follow a signed diversion route to the next junction where they can return and leave the A3 from the westbound carriageway.
A3 Hindhead Tunnel Overnight Closure
Both bores of the A3 Hindhead Tunnel will be closed overnight from 10pm to 6am on Monday 30 July, to allow testing of emergency power supplies.
During the closure, clearly signed diversions will be place. A3 southbound road users will be directed to exit at Stag Hill, and go along the A31 towards Farnham and the A325 towards Bordon, before rejoining the A3 at Longmoor. Northbound traffic will follow the same route in the opposite direction.
