A1 Darrington to Barnsdale Bar resurfacing

09 August 2012

The Highways Agency will be carrying out resurfacing work on the southbound A1 between Darrington and Barnsdale Bar in West Yorkshire this weekend. Work will take place overnight from 8pm on Saturday 11 August until 6am on Sunday 12 August. In order to carry out these works it will be necessary to close the southbound carriageway and during this time clearly signed diversion routes will be in place. Highways Agency project manager, Alan apps, said: “This work will improve the road surface. We have planned these works carefully to minimise the disruption to drivers and local residents. “During the works we advise road users to plan their journeys to avoid delays. Safety is our top priority and for the safety of road users and roadworkers we encourage all drivers to drive carefully along the diversion routes, keeping within the speed limit, and concentrating on the road ahead.”
