A traffic management summary for both new and ongoing work

A34 Beedon to Chilton Resurfacing
Resurfacing work on the northbound A34 between Beedon (Berkshire) and Chilton (Oxfordshire) continues this week.
The work started on Monday 13 August and is expected to be completed by Friday 14 September. Work to the southbound carriageway is already complete.
The northbound A34 between Chieveley and Chilton will be closed overnight between 9pm and 6am (Monday to Friday) as well as the northbound entry slip roads at Beedon, East Ilsley and West Ilsley. Road users will be directed to follow fully signed diversion routes for both long distance and local traffic.
M4 Junction 12 to 13 Bridge Joints (A340 Tidmarsh Road)
Bridge joints will be replaced this week on the A340 Tidmarsh Road Bridge over the M4.
The A340 Tidmarsh Road will be closed overnight between 10pm and 6am for two nights from Monday 20 August to both vehicles and pedestrians. Road users will be directed to follow a fully signed diversion via Ashampstead Road.
M4 Junction 13 - 14 Shefford Woodlands Safety Barrier Maintenance Work
Overnight work starts this week to replace the central reservation safety barrier posts on the M4 between junctions 13 (Wickham) and 14 (Poughley).
The work will start on Monday 20 August and is expected to be complete within four weeks, It will be carried out overnight between 9pm and 5am (Monday to Friday) using a lane closure and temporary 50mph speed limit on both carriageways.
M4 Junction 14 Closure
Work to install traffic monitoring sensors, following recent resurfacing work, will be carried out on the westbound M4 at junction 14 overnight between 10pm and 6am on Monday 20 August.
The westbound carriageway will be closed between the exit and entry slip roads between 10pm and 1am. Road users will be diverted off the M4 via the exit slip road, and back on to the M4 via the roundabout and entry slip road.
Following this carriageway closure, the westbound exit slip road at junction 14 and one lane of the main carriageway will be closed between 1am and 6am for bridge inspections to take place. The diversion will be via junction 15 and return.
M4 Junction 14 (Hungerford) Bridge Support Replacement Scheme
A major maintenance scheme continues this week to replace the bridge supports on the M4 Junction 14 roundabout near Hungerford.
There is a lane closure and reduced 30mph speed limit on the junction 14 roundabout below the motorway. On the exit slip roads at junction 14, drivers should use the left hand lane if they are taking the first exit at the roundabout, and the right hand lane for any other exit.
Road users are advised to drive with extra care through these roadworks, and to be aware that site traffic will be using the single lane section on the roundabout to access the centre of the roundabout.
The work is expected to be completed in January 2013.
M4 Junction 14 - 15 Baydon Safety Barrier Maintenance Work
Maintenance work is expected to be completed by Saturday 25 August to the safety barrier along the M4 eastbound and westbound verges between the Baydon Road Bridge and the Peaks Down Bridge.
The work started on Monday 30 July and has been taking place overnight between 10pm and 6am (Monday to Friday) using a closure of the hard-shoulder and lane 1. Some work will be undertaken on the eastbound verge during daytime hours using a closure of the hard-shoulder.
M3 Hawley Lane Bridge Strengthening Work
A scheme to strengthen the M3 Hawley Lane Bridge, just south of junction 4 near Farnborough, continues this week. A new bridge pier will be installed along the centre of the structure to maintain the safe standard of the structure.
Work started on Monday 5 March with no restrictions on the M3, and a 30mph speed limit on the B3272 which runs under the motorway. The work is expected to be completed by the end of October.
Work will primarily be carried out during daytime hours, with some work carried out overnight between 10pm and 6am and at weekends.
A3 Hindhead Tunnel Overnight Closures
The northbound bore of the Hindhead Tunnel will be closed overnight between 10pm and 6am from Monday 20 August for three nights, for cleaning and routine maintenance.
A contraflow will be used in the southbound bore to allow one lane of traffic in each direction with a temporary speed limit of 40mph in place for safety reasons.
A3 Send Interchange Southbound Entry Slip Road Surface Repairs
Surface repairs will be carried out on the southbound entry slip road of the Send Interchange overnight between 10pm and 6am on Wednesday 22 August. The slip road will be closed; road users will be directed to follow a fully a signed diversion route.
A3 Southbound Drainage Maintenance and Repairs
Drainage maintenance and repairs will be carried out overnight between 10pm and 6am on Monday 20 August along the southbound carriageway of the A3 in Surrey and Hampshire. One lane will be closed at the junction with Potters Lane (near the Burpham Interchange in Guilford) and at the Liss Interchange (near Sheet).
